From Diabetes to Distance: How a Wellness Coach and an Engineer Are Re-Engineering Health-A Lesson on the Shoreline

The sun was already climbing up and the day was getting a bit hotter when I wrapped up my
10K at Tithal Beach—01:03:28 on the clock, my third-fastest time. (Click here to read this blog) My legs were heavy, my shoes filled with sand, and the waves offered a strangely calming contrast to the burn in my muscles.
That’s when I spotted Ganesh.
A full marathoner and mechanical engineer from NIT, Ganesh and I train under the same coach.
But that morning, our conversation went far beyond pace, distance, or finish lines.
“Look around,” he said, gesturing toward the crowded shoreline. “So many people want to be fit,
but they don’t know where to begin. They think they need to run a marathon tomorrow to be
healthy.”
I laughed, still feeling what I call the “sand tax” in my legs. “It’s not that simple,” I replied.
Ganesh nodded. “It wasn’t for me either. A few years ago, three and a half years to be precise, I
had high blood pressure, diabetes, a high cholesterol level, low on energy, feeling drained even
after a good night’s sleep.
I understood machines—but not my own body.”
That line stayed with me.
Four years ago, Ganesh partnered with a wellness coach. There was
no extreme diet,
no punishing workout plan,
no overnight transformation.
Instead, they focused on something deceptively simple: his daily habits.
What he ate.
How he slept.
How he moved.
One small change at a time, those habits began to shift. Slowly, steadily, his body responded.
He didn’t just manage diabetes—he reversed the trajectory of his health. Today, he runs full
marathons at the age of 51, proving the old adage that age is just a number, not a bar.
Standing there on the sand, it struck me: while I was chasing a faster finish time, Ganesh was
chasing something much bigger—helping others take control of their health.
As we walked away from the finish line, I asked him the obvious question: “So how do you
actually help people? Is it strict diets or intense training?”
He smiled. “No. It’s simpler than that—but it takes consistency, discipline and a strong emotional
reason to take a step towards better health .”
What he and his coach have built over the past four years is not a quick-fix program. It’s a
system- one rooted in understanding, accountability, and sustainable change.
The Daily Connection
Their process starts with people, not plans.
They take time to understand each individual’s lifestyle—not just their weight or fitness level, but
their routines,
stress,
sleep patterns, and
eating habits.
Daily motivation: Staying connected to keep momentum alive
Weekly check-ins: Tracking progress and adjusting the plan
Lifestyle analysis: Identifying the small habits that create big problems.
“We don’t force people to quit bad habits overnight, We help them replace them—one step at a time.”
A Proven Blueprint
The engineer in Ganesh believes in systems that work. By focusing on the three pillars—
food,
movement, and
sleep
the body begins to correct itself naturally.
He is proof of that system.
From diabetes to running 42 kilometers, his journey isn’t just inspiring—it’s repeatable.
“Now we want to help more people,” he said. “
You don’t need to be an athlete to be healthy. You just need better habits.
Walking back to the car, I reflected on my own run. I was proud of my time, but the bigger
realization was this: both Ganesh’s transformation and my progress came from the same
place—consistent habits and the right guidance.
Whether your goal is to run a marathon or simply feel lighter, stronger, and more energetic, the
path doesn’t require extremes. It requires a plan—and someone to walk it with you.
If you’ve ever started a diet only to quit a week later, or felt like your health is slowly slipping,
maybe this is your moment to try a different approach.
Join the Journey
Ganesh and his coach are very excited to help people achieve their optimum health and
transform life for those ready to take that first step toward better health.

They’ll work with you to understand your lifestyle and help you improve your food, sleep, and
exercise habits—one small, sustainable change at a time.
As I drove away from Tithal Beach, I looked at my medal, it marked a good race.
But for the people Ganesh will work with, the real reward won’t be a medal—it will be something
far more meaningful: a healthier body, a clearer mind, and the freedom that comes from taking
control of your own habits. So the question is simple—
Are you ready to trade old habits for a better version of yourself?
